A question we have all wondered about at some point...
There is a common misconception about robots that automatically makes us think of R2-D2 from Star Wars or Disney's Wall-E, but the world of robotics is far greater and advanced. We are surrounded by robots nearly every day and unaware. From the small spaceship hoovers that whiz around the house completing chores, or even medical prosthetics helping amputees to increase mobility.
We shouldn't be afraid that artificial intelligence (AI) will be stronger or faster than us, like movies such as "The Terminator" threat, because at the end of the day we created them, we control them. Robots currently stick to a particular domain, whether it's transport, medical, production and so on, making it unrealistic that we will face a war with the robots. Surely a man-made human that has no brain, organs or blood isn't able to feel empathy or compassion or any feeling in general.

Let's not be too quick to dismiss their self-awareness. Facebook shut down their AI experiment, originally set up to test and develop their trouble-shooters for their social media networks. Chatbots Alice and Bob soon learned to communicate using their own language which only they could speak and understand, leaving scientists astonished.
Fascinating but scary right ?
The danger of AI isn't currently a threat or anytime soon for the matter, but it could attack us in a different manner. Robots could take over 20 million jobs by 2030 which benefits in terms of productivity and economic growth however, drawbacks are predicable as well.
So to conclude, NO. Robots aren't a direct danger but they will become more noticeable in everyday life and soon replace activities that were once only able to be done by humans.
